Hello and welcome to the brand-new IAWF web forum.
We think this is a very exciting addition to our new look website, and we really hope it will become THE go to resource for both aspiring, and experienced wildlife filmmakers. Whether it be a technical question, advice on a new location or you are after tips on how to get started in the industry, someone out there will have the answer. So, don't be shy get registered and get stuck in. We look forward to hearing from you. |

glad you got this up and running! It has long been needed. Too many camera forums out there full of great DPs, but very few who face the sort of needs and challenges we have to deal with.
The tricky bit of this really taking off will be how much people are willing to share about tricks and techniques of the trade. It's a small and competitive business, but hope everyone can see the greater good in sharing information. |

I'm a little anal when it comes to organization (and data management), so I've got a few suggestions to help these forums as they start becoming more populated with users and posts:
Maybe add some sections under General Discussion to discuss films, socialize, and things like that. This will help keep the more technical sections from getting bogged down with announcements of films airing, and a lot of 'hey, how have you been?' conversations. Give that stuff it's own place and it will keep the other sections better organized. I'd also recommend separating out the classifieds for selling items and gigs. I know IAWF is mostly camera folks, but if you wanted to attract a wider audience of producers, etc from our industry, maybe a gigs section would take off. Also, I'd add some thing for discussion of non-camera gear. Everything from boots, tents, blinds, etc. can make a real difference in our lives in the field. I'm sure people will like discussing this stuff, and it'd be nice to keep it separate from the more camera and technique oriented sections. just some thoughts. take 'em or leave 'em. |

Good to hear Skizip, all things we have been working on so good to know we are all on the same page. We hope to be able to have a system in place where members can add their own headings and sub heading to forums allowing people to add more general topics.
For now hopefully people can add topics that don't fit elsewhere under "General Discussions". |

Emma,
Neil Rettig and Mark Emery are two US DPs who might have stock of US birds like that. |
