Good ole Leatherman

The other day I finally got around to sending my trusty old black finish Leatherman Supertool in to get fixed. I've had it for over ten years as my go-to tool when I am in the field. I can't remember how many sets I've built, kit I've fixed and camp dinners I've prepped and eaten with it. I wouldn't go on a shoot without it in my camera bag. But, having broken off the saw blade, blunted the knife and chipped the screwdriver bit, I decided it was time to test out their 25 year warranty policy.
Well Leatherman are certainly true to their word. Being an old model they couldn't fix it so instead they sent me a brand new one by return post. So now I have a nice shiny black Supertool 300 back in my camera kit which will hopefully give me another 10 plus years of reliable service. It's good to know there are still companies out there who back great products up with excellent service.

Worth knowing Andy, thanks. Although I've always been a Swarmy man myself! I had a similarly positive experience with Lowepro when I sent a bag away for repair - another company with excellent customer service.
